About Us

After 15 years on Cape Cod, we’re still considered “washashores”; but no matter what we’re called, we can’t picture living anywhere but here. Part of the reason for our settling on Cape Cod was the feeling of neighborhood and community we found here after years of living in Boston and Washington D.C. … a feeling we don’t want lose. Yet it seems that every year sees more of the large chain stores on the Cape.

While we were researching the sites for LinkCapeCod.com, we realized there were many, many locally owned businesses which provided the same quality (if not better!) products and services as the “super stores” politely, knowledgeably and usually for not much more money (sometimes even less!).

Living on Cape Cod year round, we all know how much our economy relies on tourism (and before you can think anything, we really do enjoy meeting tourists; they always remind us of how special the Cape is); however, we should not rely entirely on an industry which is as fickle as the weather. We should patronize our locally owned businesses not just for the sake of our local economy, but also because an incredible amount of talent and skills have “washed ashore” here.

We felt it important to design a site which will link you to that talent and which will encourage all of us to patronize our locally owned businesses. We can’t tell you how much we enjoyed compiling all the links you’ll find on LinkCapeCod.com (and yes, we did check each and every link) and we hope you’ll enjoy browsing our site just as much!
